Graphics card fan clicking noise

The regulator pulses the power VERY fast and the pulse rate changes with load (this is how the voltage is regulated). This can cause the coils to make a buzzing sound. WebIt sounds exactly like a piece of plastic poking into the fan while it's running. At first I thought it was a cable. But since the gap between by graphics cards is only a few millimeters apart (I have an old 9800 GTX+ for my second monitor), there's no way a cable is poking in there. So I started experimenting.
