A normal Shock Index is considered to be between 0.5 and 0.7. If a patient’s shock index is ≥ 0.9, this is considered highly abnormal, and this patient is likely in shock. WebOur findings indicate that the shock index is a valuable tool that can effectively predict the need for blood transfusion and mortality among patients with traumatic injuries and other conditions, including sepsis and cardiovascular diseases.
